"Reform is in the Air"

Minnesota's budget crisis has abated, for the time being, and "reform" is in the air.  The West Central Tribune, a rural Minnesota newspaper, reports that legislative leaders and Governor Dayton are interested in pursuing ideas for reforming the way state government operates.

Quoting the Governor,

“I want to go top to bottom with us as a state and really transform how we deliver services and do them better,” Dayton said in a Forum Communications interview.

I hope so.  Too many people have a strong vested interest in the status quo, no matter how disfunctional.  Also, where will these new ideas come from?  Let's not go from bad to worse.

Rest assured, this blog will be watching this space closely.
