This blog will leave no stone unturned in the search for useful ideas. Ted Nordhaus and Michael Shellenberger have written a great essay to launch their new journal, titled oddly enough, Breakthrough Journal.
This passage caught my eye,
"Throughout the postwar era, the defining rationale for the American state was to build the physical, legal, political, and economic infrastructure for American modernity. Today, the primary rationale for the continued existence and function of American government has become, literally and figuratively, entitlement."
First you must correctly diagnose the ailment, before a cure can be applied.
