Grist carries a story about the conflict between the "raw food" movement (a subsidiary of the "local food" movement) and the Obama regulatory state as represented by the Food and Drug Administration.
The regulatory state seems to be winning. I don't buy raw milk or go in for such food fads, but for the local farmer, more power to her. Here is an opportunity for some rural economic development quashed by the leviathan in the name of "health and safety."
