I don't often take advice from the Chinese Government, but the Drudge headline "Eating May's Grain in April" caught my eye. This item from the French press agency AFP, reports on the Chinese Government's opinions on America's debt policy. I thought this quote summed it up nicely,
"To eat May's grain in April, however, will never be a permanent solution to a problem," the report said.
I have often thought that our whole country, the past decade or so, has been living off the fat of the land. Borrowing from the future to enjoy in the present, selling the family silver, whatever metaphor you want to employ. Until we get out spending and debt under control....file this under "decline and fall".
