Ron Arnold has a column in yesterday's Washington Examiner looking at the financial ties between the U.S. EPA and the American Lung Association. The non-profit is airing a TV commercial with an asthmatic baby in a red baby carriage on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. You can watch the ad here on YouTube. The implication is that Congress is ignoring "pollution" that is causing more childhood asthma cases.
Ignoring the fact that children spend at least 80 percent of their time indoors. The EPA doesn't regulate indoor air quality. The American Lung Association makes it clear on their website that the purpose of their TV campaign is to support the EPA's recent efforts to expand the agency's regulatory reach.
The value that Mr. Arnold's column is to document the money trail flowing from EPA to the Association, more than $28 million.
